A Boeing aircraft hotel is landing soon in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, a 30-minutes’ drive from Singapore and 20 minutes from Senai International Airport.

When it opens in June, the 1975 Avenue & Hotel will offer stays either in two refurbished Boeing 747 planes fitted with 18 suites, or the hotel block which offers 20 rooms.

Rooms at the hotel block start at 45sqm (premium) to nearly double the size at 89sqm (signature), with rates between RM1,200 to RM1,800 (US$304 to US$457) per room hosting two guests.

The two planes, affectionately nicknamed Bove and Bey, offer suites in similar sized areas as the hotel block – 34sqm (premium) or 91sqm (signature), with rates between RM1500 to RM3,000 per room hosting two guests.

“This will be Malaysia’s first plane-themed hotel of its kind, and we expect demand to come from luxury travellers,” Andrew Lam, General Manager told Travel Weekly Asia.

She added that the new hotel will be targeting Singapore, Indonesia, China, Australia and the Middle East markets.

To reach these destinations while transporting guests around the world without buying an actual plane ticket, each suite will be furnished to represent a different country. These include England, France, Czech, Spain, Switzerland, Germany, Greece, Italy, Mexico and Egypt, to China, Japan, South Korea, Saudi Arabia and Malaysia.

The 19,500 sqm hotel will have a pool and water playscape area, gym, spa and jacuzzi, a man-made beach slash lagoon, an all-day dining restaurant, a cafe by day and bar by night, as well as a surau for prayers.

An additional retail block with 465 car park bays means guests will not need to travel out for F&B, beauty services, massages, shopping, specialty services and more.

Bookings are now open for the hotel’s soft launch on 1 June, and grand opening in September 2026.
